Inspectors and Inspections

The inspectors work only part-time in their respective areas. To contact an inspector, please call 605.773.6193.

Inspections

All licensed salons, booths and schools are inspected annually for safety and sanitation. The inspections are unannounced and occur at different times throughout the year. A facility that passes inspection receives a Certificate of Passed Annual Inspection card, which is posted by the licensee. A facility that fails inspection is allowed a short time to correct the violations. If, on re-inspection, the facility passes, a certificate is provided. If the facility fails the re-inspection, the case will be brought before the Commission's Investigating Committee.
