How to Report New Hires
Employers may report new employees to the New Hire Reporting Center by any of the following methods, whichever is the easiest and most convenient:
If an employer has employees in more than one state, that employer may choose multistate reporting to report all New Hires to one of those states and register as an employer. Otherwise each employee must be reported to the state in which he or she works.
Before you can submit information on newly hired or rehired employees through this site, you must complete the registration process. By registering, you provide the information we will need to contact you regarding the data you submit.

A copy of the Federal W-4 Form may be completed and faxed to the New Hire Reporting Center, but it must include the employee's date of hire. Be sure to enter the employer name, address and Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) in blocks 8 and 10 of the form. Please ensure all information is legible and will be readable after your copy is faxed.
