Career Learning Centers

Career Learning Centers (CLCs) work closely with the South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation to provide education and employment training services that meet the needs of local job seekers and businesses.

The curriculum is personalized and self-paced to meet your needs and when you start and complete a program is up to you. Career specialists will help you focus your interests, aptitudes, abilities and motivation. Then an employability plan will be prepared to address your personal education and job training needs. You will learn not only how to look for a job, but also job retention skills so you will know what employers expect. Staff also offer counseling on topics such as budgeting, substance abuse and self-esteem. When you successfully complete Career Learning Center programs, you will be ready to enter the workforce.

The cost of various education and training programs may be subsidized through federal, state and local grants for eligible applicants. Many of the programs and services are also available on a tuition basis.
