Flexibility of the Registered Apprenticeship Program
The Office of Apprenticeship will work with you to create a flexible training program appropriate for your business. Private and public sectors – individual employers, employer associations or joint labor/management sponsors, operate Registered Apprenticeship programs. Registered programs range in size from one apprentice to hundreds depending on the employer. As your workforce needs change, we will help you adjust your training curriculum or design a new program if necessary. Registered Apprenticeship programs can be competency based or time based depending on program sponsor needs.
Registered Apprenticeship Program in South Dakota
South Dakota has more than 100 Registered Apprenticeship programs in such industries as construction; dental; municipalities; health services; fire protection; fire medic; electric; plumbing; and building maintenance. There are nearly 1,000 apprentices currently registered in apprenticeship programs in South Dakota.
